Restaurant Review: Salt Grill by Luke Mangan - Altitude

July 03, 2013

It was a lovely Wednesday when I went to Salt Grill with my girls. Salt Grill is a new fine dining concept which is located at The Plaza - Altitude along with other two restaurants; Gaia and En Maru. The Plaza is the building conjoined with Plaza Indonesia Mall. Altitude is a complex containing three restaurants namely; En Maru(japanese), Gaia by Oso Ristorante(italian), and Salt Grill by Luke Mangan(western & grills). When I went there, it was lunch time so we decided to try the Executive Lunch Set Menu. As you can see below, its Rp. 190.000 for 2 course and Rp. 240.000 for 3 course.
Chicken Liver Parfait, Pear Chutney, Toasted Brioche
Sashimi of Kingfish, ginger, eschallot and goats feta
Risotto of mushroom, chervil and taragon, porcini foam
Sydney Crab Omellete, enoki mushroom, and herb salad, miso mustard broth
Let's start off with the appetizers. First of all, Sydney Crab Omellete is the bomb!! Really delicious. And the Sashimi too! Fresh and yummy! I don't really like the risotto because it's just too much. While for the Chicken liver...I don't like it. Even my friends didn't quite like it. Well, its just not my taste.

Dijon and herb crumbed pork, mixed mushrooms, apple and witlof salad

Grilled Chicken in cajun spice, roast pumpkin, aspargus, persian feta, red wine sauce
Baby Barramundi, capsicum salsa, char grilled squid
Potato gnocchi, corn, asparagus, zucchini, parmesan, thyme, truffle and verjuice dressing
For the main course, for me Baby barramundi is the best! The taste and the texture are pure perfection!! Grilled chicken and potato gnocchi are also great!! For the pork, it would be great if they add some sauce(?) or something cause its too dry for me.
Exotic Salt Grill Mocktail
Liquorice Parfait, "Signature"
The dessert is so damn delicious but taste a little bit like medicine, I don't know why. Some of my friends agreed too that it tastes like medicine. Nonetheless, its still yummy.

Food - 4/5
Place - 4.5/5
Price - $$$$
Service - 5/5

The food is definitely overprice. Average spending is around Rp. 300.000. The place is beautiful though, at the peak of The Plaza. If you get the table next to window you can see Jakarta's amazing view especially at night. The service is the best, they served us well, they're quick and answered every question we asked about the restaurant nor food.
